Abstract: The article deals with self-employment in Russia and its link with the informal labor market. The authors identified the main reasons for the low level of self-employment in Russia: the imperfect statistics, the high costs of the legal activities, the shadow self-employment. Special attention is paid to the development of self-employment in e-business and the informal employment in this field.
