Abstract: The article is devoted to development of theoretical and methodological grounds of analysis of export potential of an enterprise on the basis of the system paradigm of its formation. It analyses existing approaches to interpretation of the essence of export potential of an enterprise and proves that the problem of categorical distinctness of export potential of an enterprise is caused by complexity of its formation as a system phenomenon, appearing on the basis of coherence and interaction of enterprise potentials (production system) and foreign market (system of international exchange). The article provides the author's interpretation of the essence and specific features of formation of export potential of an enterprise in the context of interaction of the enterprise potentials and foreign market. It justifies expediency of identification of the essence of export potential of an enterprise through the category of assets that are attracted to export activity of an enterprise.
