Abstract: The goal of the article is generalisation of the world experience of conducting diversification and justification of its influence upon the world globalisation processes. The article considers a number of rather successful trans-national companies both American (Daimler-Benz), West-European (Nokia), Pacific-Asian (Takeda) and Ukrainian (Metinvest), which at one point of their development chose diversification expansion of production and sales, entering, in such a way, the global market. Histories of these companies are not similar, since they were founded and formed in different times under influence of different political and economic situations. The only thing that is similar for all of them is successful use of various methods of diversification, which ensured their success in the international market. Thus, namely diversification became the foundation for globalisation of international economic relations. Merger of companies as a consequence of globalisation influence of diversification processes is not something extraordinary, but also is not common, especially if we speak about major companies that have a huge variety of manufactured products.
