Abstract:
This study specifically examines the connections between certain prominent leadership styles (e.g., autocratic leadership, democratic leadership, transactional leadership, transformational leadership, servant leadership, and charismatic leadership) and project performance in the Chinese domain, drawing on the theory of constraints. Second, this study assesses the role of risk management practices (RMPs) such as financial risk in the relationships between leadership styles (LS) and project performance. The study additionally determines the most effective leadership style in this domain. The findings ensure a positive connection between LS and project performance where some styles are found to be more effective than others. However, proper management of risks such as financial risk management can better support the relationships between leadership styles and project performance.
