Technological innovation of automotive part makers in China

Abstract: In China, the automotive industry has been expanding rapidly in the past years and is becoming one of the pillar industries. Automotive part makers correspondingly play an important role along with this rapid expansion. Therefore, it is important to discuss the technology innovation of Chinese automotive part makers, which will help in improving their technology innovation ability and continuous and stable development. This paper analyses opportunities and challenges Chinese automotive part industry are facing. Opportunities include Chinese market foreground, export of automobile and automotive part made in China, transferring of international automobile part, government support, standardised market and stable price. Challenges include market integration, technology barrier and foreign investment. The problems are discussed from technological status quo of Chinese automotive part makers, technological advantage and Chinese automotive part makers' technological innovation. Based on the above, a technology innovation mode of Chinese automotive part maker and some development suggestions are put forward.
