Abstract:
Supply chain risk management (SCRM) needs to become reality to improve bottom line and to get competitive advantage. However, lack of awareness and understanding of barriers in SCRM implementation hinders the realising benefits of SCRM. This study identifies barriers in Indian automobile industry and how these barriers discriminate firms on their SCRM maturity level were explored using discriminant analysis. Research shows relative importance of SCRM barriers that might be useful for SCM or risk managers in automotive firms to make a plan for reducing the barriers. Thus, managers can address important barriers first and assure success of SCRM.
