 Business continuity management in Iran industries - a survey of different sectorsYasaman Maboudian and Kamran Rezaie International Journal of Business Continuity and Risk Management, 2014, vol. 5, issue 4, 306-322 Abstract: This research investigates the extent of which BCM is practiced in Iran industries. In this regard, a survey in three industry sectors of Iran was conducted. Based on the obtained results, during the last year a large majority of organisations have experienced disruptions with significant impacts on the continuity of their operations. There is no evidence of BCM establishment in the studied industries. This shows that the BCM awareness in Iran industries is very low. The adoption of BCM should be promoted by government and relevant authorities and necessary supports and incentives should be provided to facilitate the investments in industrial organisations. This study is the first attempt to survey the adoption of BCM by Iran industries, along with investigating the business environments, the rate and intensity of changes, disruptions experienced by organisations, effectiveness of the responses and organisations' awareness about BCM.
