Managers' environmental perceptions: an institutional perspective

Abstract:
Within the framework of institutional theory, we find significant differences in the level of perceived turbulence among different competitive environments. However, managers do not perceive marked differences as regards the 'best practices' that give the organisation greater strategic flexibility. Probably, business schools homogenise the manager's perception of practices.
