Abstract:
The resource-based theory is widely acknowledged as the most prominent theory in the field of strategic management. Identifying current state of development as well as directions for future research is thus of special interest to scholars. Using a co-citation analysis our study provides empirical evidence for a paradigmatic shift in recent years that has led to the formation and constitution of the dynamic capabilities approach as a new dominant paradigm within the resource-based theory.
