How to build sustainable innovation capability in supply chain management

Abstract:
Today's corporate challenge is to be able to build and maintain its sustainable innovation capacity of the organisation, to achieve growth, profitability, and leadership in the markets. This is a research paper following an empirical case of a leading paper manufacturing company in central Java, Indonesia, in their way of building their maintainable innovation capability in their supply chain by applying a combination of various existing models. The models used in the case including innovation management maturity model™, sustainability-oriented innovation (SOI) model, supply chain operation reference (SCOR®) model, digital supply chains, Project Management Office (PMO), cognitive science, ADKAR® model and three-phase change management process. The company has established a framework based upon the models mentioned above and customised successfully in their supply chains which have achieved tangible returns such as 25% direct materials inventory reduction, and 3% sales increase.
