Review of emotional intelligence, interpersonal relationship and wellness of nurses: scope and avenue for further research

Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the available literature on emotional intelligence, interpersonal relationship at workplace and wellness, and to propose a research framework. The research uses qualitative and quantitative methods to find out the research trend and research gap. Qualitative review of approximately 340 articles identified has resulted in 157 most relevant articles. Citation analysis has been performed using SCImago Journal Ranking, Google Scholar and Research Gate. Journal citation and the author citation have been presented in a tabular form. The study highlights the highly cited article along with the journal with the possible explanation. Geographical distribution of studies along with search hits for the variables are presented using graph and table. A research framework has been proposed in order to fill the research gap. The present study tries to understand the relative importance of emotional intelligence, interpersonal relationship at workplace and wellness in healthcare industry in order to make a better workplace.
