Abstract:
Within the context of global integration and intense increase in international transactions, more small and medium-sized companies are trying to enter foreign markets. In this scenario, the aim of this study is to identify variables that affect the internationalisation of small and medium-sized companies through a literature review and meta-analysis with content analysis. Results of the study propose two dimensions of variables affecting the internationalisation of small and medium-sized companies, namely: the intra dimension and the extra dimension, each of which comprise two sub-dimensions: capabilities and performance for the former, and environment out and environment in for the latter.
