The value of sustainable practices: a climate of stakeholder engagement

Wanda Tisby Cousar and Sharon Huff

International Journal of Business and Globalisation, 2011, vol. 7, issue 4, 459-470

Abstract: Stakeholders wanted services but did not know how to access them, nor believed they had political power to be listened to; because their past experiences were that of rejection, intentional misunderstandings, and a lack of empowerment. To capture sustainable practices these factors cannot be ignored. The environment's preservation is a critical component to its people while thriving and engaging them in sustainable planning. This creates the core of an organisation's existence within the community that it aims to provide products and services wanted and needed.
