Performance analysis of computational intelligence techniques for energy efficiency in wireless sensor networks

M. Dhivya and M. Sundarambal

International Journal of Business Information Systems, 2014, vol. 16, issue 1, 42-54

Abstract: Energy efficient techniques and management schemes are essential in a wireless sensor network, as sensor nodes are power constrained. To restrain the energy problem, it is important to have efficient deployment, scheduling mechanisms and routing schemes. In this paper, heuristics and optimisation techniques for sensor networks are analysed based on their algorithmic attributes for energy efficiency. A detailed view of various swarm intelligence techniques is discussed in context of clustering, routing and MAC applications. The proposed techniques and algorithms are discussed and compared through simulation results.
