 Factors affecting the adoption of internet banking: a systematic literature reviewAmer Alzaidi and Shahzad Qamar International Journal of Business Information Systems, 2018, vol. 28, issue 1, 95-124 Abstract: Recent developments and trends in information and communication technology (ICT) have significant impact on financial institutions such as banks. Internet banking (IB) referred to the use of ICT by customers for performing different banking related tasks. The objective of this study is to identify the factors, which are affecting the adoption of IB. A systematic literature review (SLR) methodology is adopted for conducting this research work. Our SLR included 122 papers selected from six digital libraries, i.e., Google Scholar, Emerald Insight, Science Direct, IEEE Xplore, Springer Link and ACM, published between 1999 and 2015. We classified 122 papers in the years, in which they were published, country in which research was conducted and the methodologies used in the papers. Based on the analysis of 122 papers, we identified 44 factors affecting the adoption of IB. Ease of use, security, ease of usefulness, trust and prior IT knowledge are consider critical among 44 factors. IB adoption is still a hot topic for research because the interest of researchers is still there to work on the factors affecting the adoption of IB.
