Abstract:
After deployment, testing and validation techniques have become an important requirement for the reliability of software. However, these techniques do not measure energy that they consume, which is also an important parameter for software systems with short energy budgets. In this paper, we propose a new energy conservation technique. This novel technique does not affect the coverage percentage, but reduces the energy consumption. Energy conservation is based on test case minimisation technique according to modified condition/decision coverage (MC/DC) requirements. Our experimental study shows that, as compared to existing work, our proposed approach achieves less energy consumption. On an average of five programs, we save 40.8% energy consumption.
