Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of knowledge sharing behaviour (KSB) on employee engagement (EE) and employee performance (EP) among teaching staff of Malaysian private universities (MPUs). However, studies of such have been given less attention within the context of MPU. Therefore, this paper highlights the issue through a systematic review of previous literature on the subject matter. The study outcome indicated that KSB has a significant effect on EP, and EE partially mediates KSB and EP relationship in MPU. The research suggests that university management should focus and invest in KSB culture as a tool to improve EE positively in order to accomplish and maintain EP. This paper has made a significant contribution to the existing body of knowledge and operationalisation of KSB, EE and EP literature which could help to develop theory and model in the field of work performance.
