Abstract:
This paper aimed to identify initiatives taken by faculties of Tribhuvan University (TU) on knowledge management (KM) and suggest strategies for quality education. Data collected through structured questionnaire and open ended interview with faculties of different levels and areas are analysed to deal KM and quality education. It identifies that faculties realised on scientific approach in creating and use of created knowledge. Though, faculties are surrounded by many non-knowledge-based activities and many other features, the trend of becoming competitive in many sectors of KM by their own efforts rather than institutional environment is increasing. It is believed that this research paper contributes to academic leaders and practitioners to know the real issues and challenges of academic institutions and help to apply concept of KM to achieve quality educational goals. However, small sample size, and involvement by junior faculties are main limitations which still show rooms for future research.
