Abstract:
Technology transfer is considered as a continuous process characterised by the transmission of knowledge generated by the university, government agencies, and any institution capable of generating knowledge to an enterprise that allows it to innovate and expand its technological capabilities to get a competitive advantage in the marketplace. This paper aims to know the current status of the latest research related to the technology transfer from university to industry, for it has been made a systematic review of the literature proposed by various authors in order to answer the following research question: What are the agents, mechanisms, stages, models, and factors in the technology transfer? It has identified 15 models, 15 mechanisms, three agents, 30 positive and 21 negative factors which influence the transfer process, and it concludes that universities have developed technology transfer models but these are based on different realities and contexts of each region.
