Abstract:
This article is a section of a research that analyses the geo-economic model of the Brazilian foreign policy. Brazil, as an emerging power, has a different position in the current international arena. Important coalitions were discussed, as for example, BRICs, IBSA, UNASUL, MERCOSUL, CPLP, among others. Throughout the study, the main historical concepts of the Brazilian diplomacy were analysed and compared to the contemporary practice. In the end, it is possible to identify a pattern of behaviour, which is called the Brazilian geo-economic model. The identification of the model spawned the opportunity not only for better understanding of the Brazilian conduct, but also to propose possible improvements, which are made in the last section of the study.
