Abstract:
Economics and diplomacy are the two pillars of today's globalised and inter-connected world order and require seamless connectivity in order to operate effectively. The term economic diplomacy is surely not new, nevertheless, has gained new currency with increasing number of stakeholder, actors, issue areas as well as levels. These need a closer investigation and understanding of dynamics of diplomacy. The paper focuses on India-Myanmar-Thailand Trilateral Corridor as case study; India being part of South Asia and Myanmar-Thailand are that of South-East Asia. The operational and technical aspects of any such projects involving neighbouring countries as easier said than done. The paper analyses the working components and also bring forward the roadblocks to the corridor. The last section deals with the most concerned issue of the century, i.e., security. How an inter-state corridor like IMT Trilateral Corridor does impacts the security aspect of these countries and the region.
