Applying QE-DEA in the evaluation of the Greek public sector: the case of the agencies for aliens and immigration of the Decentralized Administration of Macedonia and Thrace

Abstract: The public administration is entering a new area of rapid reform and restructuring aiming at enhancing its efficiency and effectiveness. The purpose of the present work is to investigate the degree of effectiveness of the Greek public sector applying the QE-DEA model. The results reveal those departments that more efficiently carry out their activities as well as those found to be relatively less effective. For the latter, QE-DEA can recommend specific potential improvements if they wish to operate at what appears to be the best practice.
