International Journal of Education Economics and Development, 2014, vol. 5, issue 3, 267-279

Abstract: Socio-economic status of women plays a very vital role in both individual and community life as women constitute half of the society. In Manipur from the historic period, women have been an important part of the society. This paper, in this regard tries to analyse the condition of women in Manipur at the present time. The secondary data-based study is an attempt to find out the possibility of deprivation of women in Manipur, though indirectly by the help of some socio-economic indicators. It can be taken as a path finding study for further grass root level study with primary data to come at a definite conclusion.
