Western Auto Parts: the evolution of an entrepreneurial business in Poland

Abstract:
Limited academic studies have focused on understanding the evolution of entrepreneurial businesses in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The case provides an opportunity to gain insights into some of the micro and macro-problems related to the development of entrepreneurial business in the CEE region. The case focuses on Western Auto Parts (WAP), a leading distributor of spare parts for Western passenger vehicles in Poland. The company was founded in the early 1990s and achieved revenues of $45 million in 2005.
