Abstract:
The cold chain has become one of the most important supply chain practices in the world today especially because it is used in the pharmaceutical, food, chemical as well as in the floral industries. This report examines the cold chain logistics in the floral industry, from the suppliers (flower growers), to the wholesalers, to the retailers and finally to the customers. It gives an extensive review of how flowers are transported around the world and concentrates on the Middle East, where Dubai is becoming the major hub for the floricultural industry.
