Abstract:
This paper analyses the determinants of the total intra-industrial (IIT) and vertical (VIIT) trade between Tunisia and the European Union (EU-15) for the 2000/2015 period. The results show that intra-industrial trade is mainly of a vertical nature. On the other hand, the results obtained from the panel model estimates using the generalised method of moments (GMM-sys) suggest that the factorial allocations and the vertical differentiation of the products are mainly negatively related to IIT and VIIT while the GDP of a larger economy shows a positive and statistically very significant relationship between intra-industrial trade (IIT and VIIT) and economic growth of the GDP of the EU-15 group of countries.
