Changes on Polish labour market occurring in the period of systemic transformation

Abstract: The fact that in 1989 Poland transformed from centrally planned economy into market economy brought about radical changes in the functioning of the entire national economy together with its particular markets. As human capital plays a leading role in managing, labour market is a basic element of every economy. Economic, social and political dimensions of labour market cannot be overestimated. The present paper aimed at presenting changes on Polish labour market that occurred in the period 1990–2006, i.e. during systemic transformation which overlapped with a developing globalisation of the economy and Poland's integration into the European Union.
