Global leaders success relies on their competencies and predictors of their leadership potential

Abstract: To meet the global challenges organisations must understand the special aspects of globalisations and internationalisation. For an organisation to be successful globally, leaders within that organisation play a vital role. This study aims to determine the various competencies and predictors to examine the leadership potential within an individual. A conceptual theoretical framework has developed from the past literature and theories. One must predict the leadership potential in an individual before sending them to a foreign assignment. Experience of a foreign project and the inherited different useful skills from family may predict the potential of global leader that leads toward success. Global leader's success may rely on the individual's competencies, which enhances through proper motivation and training. Self-awareness, self-regulation, cognitive skills, and leader's knowledge about the culture are the competencies of global leader in this study. If an individual having these competencies and potential then ultimately success will be his/her reward.
