Abstract:
Environmental sustainability in seaports is an issue of timely importance in many countries given the rapid increase in port-to-port traffic and harbour capacity. This paper explores the situation in one of the ports in Egypt, its challenges in terms of environmental aspects and current pollution situation. It argues that managing environmental sustainability in marine ports requires more focus on quality. The paper compiles insights and arguments in the choice of an appropriate quality management framework that can play a pivotal role to enhance the environmental sustainability in seaports.
