Abstract:
In order to study the influence of plow pan on water infiltration in dry land, a series of experiments were carried out with soil blocks, water and Mariotte bottle. The experimental results indicate that: 1) the Kostiakov model, Horton model and Philip model all apply to describing the relation between accumulative infiltration capacity and infiltration time in various experimental situations of this study, and the minimum of correlation coefficient R2 can reach to 0.991; 2) the plow pan structure existing in the soil has an evident infiltration resistant and reducing effect on the distribution of infiltrated water. The research conclusions further show the influencing rule of plow pan on the infiltration process of water and its distribution. This research provides a basis for scientific design of irrigation systems and schedules, improves irrigation efficiency, and gives guidance to the breaking down of plow pan in agricultural production.
