The need for environmentally-sustainable developments

International Journal of Global Energy Issues, 2002, vol. 17, issue 1/2, 1-22
Abstract:
A succinct, rigorous definition of the term sustainable development needs to be agreed and the concept implemented worldwide. Society needs to improve the way it behaves towards its environment, if environmental sustainability is going to be achieved. What is clear is that the journey towards this goal is incredibly complex, will impact on all aspects of human life and will not be an "overnight" phenomenon, but will take generations to achieve successfully.
