Rational use and management of geothermal energy resources

I.B. Kilkis

International Journal of Global Energy Issues, 2002, vol. 17, issue 1/2, 35-59

Abstract: This article identifies and explains several attributes of geothermal energy. High exergetic efficiency due to a close temperature tie between geothermal energy and district heating and cooling was noted. Parameters governing the rational use and management of geothermal energy systems with special emphasis on integrated-cascaded district energy systems were formulated and explained with two case studies.

Keywords: geothermal energy; district heating and cooling; geothermal energy cascading; radiant panels; ground source heat pumps; rational use of geothermal energy. (search for similar items in EconPapers)
