Decomposition of India's industrial energy use: a case study using energy intensity approach

Abstract:
This paper tries to identify the structural and intensity effects of the ongoing structural reforms in industrial energy use by using the decomposition technique and the intensity approach. The paper also suggests that a time series decomposition technique, which takes into account the transitional dynamics, is more appropriate for use in the reform period. This paper also examines the reliability aspect of various methodologies proposed in the literature.
