System energy studies at the Energy Systems Institute

Abstract: The paper addresses the key points of methodology for system studies in energy as a fundamental trend of energy science. This methodology is developed at the Energy Systems Institute, the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science. Three areas of study are discussed, comprising system studies of properties and regularities in the development of energy technologies; studies of properties of energy systems, their management and control; and the elaboration of energy policy and the mechanisms of its implementation.
