International Journal of Global Environmental Issues, 2009, vol. 9, issue 3, 212-226

Abstract: This paper presents a hybrid approach based on AHP and belief theory for evaluating sustainable transport solutions. The approach consists of four steps. In the first step, we identify the criteria for evaluating the transport measure. In the second step, we collect data on the criteria from multiple sources and perform data fusion using belief theory. In the third step, we evaluate the state of sustainability of the city. Finally, in the fourth step, we propose five IF-THEN rules to generate recommendations for implementing the transportation measure. An application on carsharing is provided to illustrate our approach.
