Narrative techniques in ancient Indian wisdom for teaching/learning contemporary management

Abstract: Management wisdom can be gleaned from ancient Indian wisdom from a large number of ancient texts. This article identifies major narrative techniques used in ancient literature that have in them wisdom that can be used for teaching management. The aim was to list and provide examples of the often used narrative techniques so that search in the vast ocean of ancient literature is optimal. Stories/katha, proverbs/lokokti, nyaya/maxims, discussions (samvaada), upadesha, and creating contemporary models using ancient frameworks were identified as popular narrative techniques. Each of this in the context of management has been explained with appropriate examples.
