Abstract:
This article attempts to ascertain the differences between various groups of demographic variables concerning the work-life balance (WLB) of the teachers of University of Delhi. Using an online questionnaire, we collected data from 425 participants who were teachers of the University of Delhi. To test the relations independent sample T-test and one-way ANOVA were used. The results showed in terms of the category of respondents, partner status, number of children, education, college campus, and departments there were no differences between groups. The differences were seen amongst various groups based on age, experience, income, gender, nature of the job, and background of respondent. Concerning permanent and non-permanent teachers, it was found that non-permanent teachers were affected more by WLB issues as compared to permanent teachers due to insecure jobs requiring the immediate attention of authorities. The study concluded that the engagement of teachers is influenced by age, status, and stages of career.
