Strategic leadership for corporate sustainable development at Tata Steel

Abstract:
The paper touches upon some fundamental issues of sustainable development. It also brings about key strategic issues for corporate sustainability leadership, as envisioned by the United Nations Global Compact. The paper further explores the issues of strategic leadership applied by the Tata Group of Companies, and in particular one of the oldest companies in the group, Tata Steel, the first steel company in India and Asia, as to how it has integrated the strategy for sustainable development in its corporate strategy for business excellence for becoming a socially responsive global corporate citizen.
