Multi-criteria location of multi-modal terminals in integrated public transport systems

Johanna Camargo-Perez and Jairo R. Montoya-Torres

International Journal of Information and Decision Sciences, 2021, vol. 13, issue 4, 335-349

Abstract: A global trend worldwide in people transportation in urban areas is to integrate different transportation modes into the same network, so the needs of several stakeholders are considered. A key issue to solve is to identify the best possible locations of intermodal terminals. This paper proposes a methodology to solve such a problem, taken the City of Bogota, Colombia as an exemplary case study. The approach is evaluated in terms of efficiency and efficacy, so, the benefits of the application are highlighted. Although a case study is presented in this paper, the methodology can be generalised to be applied elsewhere helping the decision-making process.
