Understanding the role of stakeholders during business intelligence implementations: an actor-network theory perspective

Abstract: This paper is concerned with the implementation of business intelligence (BI) presenting a case study from the Hellenic banking sector. Based on the paucity of BI literature on the role of stakeholders in the implementation and by adopting an actor-network theory (ANT) perspective, it focuses and discusses the emergence of actors and their associations during this process. The contribution of this study lies in providing an insight of the manner system stakeholders come in the fore during the different phases in complex system implementation contexts and influence along the way the process from design to the final roll-out.
