Abstract:
This paper seeks to determine cases, when multi-criteria production planning is necessary, and to give rough, but simple, method of this planning. The production planning problem is addressed, where the quantity of the product required (demand) in future periods is forecast, using which one must decide when and how much to produce. Accordance of various classifications used by operation theory and commercial software is ascertained. Limits of single criteria planning are determined, and dynamic approach to production planning is demonstrated. This paper extends the research on production planning classification and multi-criteria planning which is accumulated in the literature over the last 30 years.
