Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to construct power spectral density (PSD) profiles to analyse carton clamp truck handling environments. It also aimed to investigate the effects of payload, travelling speed, and tyre type on vibration levels of the main body and attachment of the clamp truck. Three types of PSD profiles of carton clamp truck handling were constructed for three different test courses designed based on a case study in the home appliance industry, ASTM D6055 and ISTA 3B. Experimental results showed that the overall root mean square acceleration of the new test course designed based on the actual handling environment in the home appliance industry is between the data obtained from ASTM D6055 and ISTA 3B test courses. The vibration levels measured at both the main body and attachment of the clamp truck increased with travel speed, they also increased when payload decreased.
