International Journal of Industrial and Systems Engineering, 2024, vol. 47, issue 2, 237-270

Abstract: The objective of the present study is to deal with the profit analysis of utensils manufacturing system of steel industry which has six subsystems: 'hot rolling and annealing', 'washing machine', 'sheet gridding', 'cold rolling', 'circle cutting and pressing machine' and 'machining, annealing and designing'. These subsystems are connected in series pattern. Subsystems 'hot rolling and annealing', 'sheet gridding', 'circle cutting and pressing machine' and 'machining, annealing and designing' consist a single unit. Subsystem 'washing machine' contains three identical units: two units are working in parallel and other unit is hold in cold standby. The subsystem 'cold rolling' has two similar units: one is operative and other is in cold standby. Failure rates and repair rates are follows general distributions. Supplementary variable technique is used to analyse the utensils manufacturing system. The behaviour of the utensils manufacturing system has been evaluated by considering arbitrary parametric values for exponential, Rayleigh and Weibull distributions.
