Estimation of job complexity in an industrial organisation

Abstract:
Most of the studies in the field of complexity relate themselves to the globalisation of markets, increased competitive pressures, shorter delivery times and others, but in this study, complexity is related to the mental fatigue required of a person for doing a specific job. The purpose of this paper is to develop a generic model to assess the overall complexity of a profession. This paper also discusses the complexity view of an industrial organisation (job production type) with estimation of job complexity of an engineer. The method of computing complexity is constructed from empirical evidences gathered from manufacturing industry and aimed to elaborate a new expression for complexity.
