Task re-allocation in temporary production networks

Dmitry Ivanov, Tobias Teich and Boris Sokolov

International Journal of Integrated Supply Management, 2013, vol. 8, issue 1/2/3, 107-120

Abstract: Although engineering concepts, information tools, and mathematical models for partner selection in temporary production and supply networks have been extensively developed in the last decade, the issues of re-planning and dynamic adaptation remain still relatively unexplored. This paper first presents a conceptual model and a case study to agile building of supply chains in production networks. Subsequently, a model of task re-allocation in the production network on the basis of recently developed Structure Dynamics Control (SDC) theory is presented. With the results of this study, flexible partner selection planning and task re-planning have been brought to a joint consideration.
