Impact of e-commerce on supply chain management

Abstract:
E-commerce is web-enabled technology that brought significant changes in the supply chain activities of an industry. Supply chain management has become a major strategy in manufacturing and service industry. An attempt has made in this paper on identifying the significant factors that affect the e-commerce adoption in the supply chain of a company, identifying the effects of e-commerce on different aspects of supply chain. The study also identifies the major performance parameters of a supply chain and effect of e-commerce adoption on these supply chain variables. An attempt has been made to propose a conceptual model for the study based on the existing literature and field study; the model is validated by academic experts and also experts in industry. Correlation analysis is being carried out to find gap between the ideal and actual situation.
