Abstract: Undertaking economic impact studies serves to determine the importance of transport infrastructures to the regions and cities in which they are located. While such studies have focused on large infrastructures such as ports and airports, few have examined logistic infrastructures. In this paper, we calculate the economic impact of Zaragoza logistics platform (PLAZA) for 2012 and determine the effect of the world economic crisis on this infrastructure. We study the different levels of economic impact (direct, indirect and induced impacts) and these are measured in terms of employment, wages and gross added value (GVA). The results show that the infrastructure improved its business performance in 2012, with higher levels of the main variables studied, in comparison with those obtained before the crisis in 2005.
