Logistics Performance Index: what is Brazil's logistics performance in the international market?

Abstract: The present study aimed to evaluate, in light of strategic positioning theory, the logistics performance of Brazil in the international market based on the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) presented by the World Bank. It is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach. Data were collected in documents issued by the World Bank and from the World Bank, AliceWeb and UNComtrade databases. Cluster analysis and multiple comparison of means were used to analyse the data. The results showed that Brazil has medium logistics performance compared to other countries. Its worst performance was in the customs dimension and its best was in timeliness. Moreover, developed countries are mostly grouped in the cluster with a high logistics performance.
