Industry 4.0 technologies applied to supply chain: a systematic literature review

Bruno da Costa Ferreira Gameiro and Eduardo Guilherme Satolo

International Journal of Logistics Systems and Management, 2023, vol. 46, issue 1, 1-26

Abstract: The transformations and changes in society's habits have resulted in advances that accelerate the speed of information, making the future unpredictable and hindering planning for companies. To support the flexibility and speed demanded by the market, technologies emerge in the context of Industry 4.0 (I4) and consequently, in Supply Chain 4.0 (SC4). Considering the literature on SC4, gaps can be found as no current research exhibits the representativeness of each technology or that has listed the I4 technologies applied in the supply chain (SC). Therefore, the goal of this study is to map the state of the art of I4 technologies applied to SC, using as methodology a systematic literature review (SLR). As a result, this article elaborates on the state of the art of SC4, lists and discusses the technologies covered, shows which countries are studying this topic, and presents how these technologies are being applied to SC.
