Assessment of multidimensional drivers of blockchain technology in sustainable supply chain management of Indian cement industry: a novel PLS-SEM approach

Abstract:
This research investigates the multidimensional drivers of blockchain technology in sustainable supply chain management (SSCM). A sample of 185 industrial suppliers was taken. The information is gathered through a structured questionnaire based on a five-point Likert range and convenience sampling. Six constructs with 31 items are discovered, hypotheses are evaluated using factor analysis, and the model fit is achieved through structural equation modelling (SEM). It is evident that supply chain transparency, flexibility, SCM operation, sustainable haulage, competitiveness, and relative advantage are the positive and major constructs for blockchain technology utilisation (BTU). Thus, modern blockchain technology will positively impact the supply chain of the cement industry since it offers anonymity, security, scalability, and immutability. As a result, blockchain models should be implemented throughout the supply chain, which would benefit all stakeholders. The results also reveal that implementing blockchain in SCM netted novel insights that significantly benefited users, policymakers, and stakeholders.
